LAHORE: Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood stated, none of the building of any Governor House is being demolished, elucidating that only few changes are being made in Karachi and Peshawar Governor Houses.

According to details, the minister gave clarification on the recent statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan about demolishing the walls of Punjab Governor House.

As per the federal minister, decorative fences will be put in the place of boundary walls of the Governor House and none of the building will be razed in the process, he stressed.

Art gallerias and museums are being established in the Governor Houses whereas Nathiagali Governor House will be transformed into a hotel, Shafqat said.

A day earlier, in line with his party’s electoral promise, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the authorities to pull down the boundary walls of the Punjab Governor House.

He directed Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Governor Chaudhry Sarwar to raze the walls of the Governor House within next 72 hours, said Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will fulfill all promises it made to the people during the election campaign.
