KARACHI: The unknown assailants tried to rob a sweet shop situated at Sir Syed area of Karachi here on Tuesday, ARY News reported.
According to details, the three dacoits entered the sweet shop and tried to loot the owner and customers standing there. The CCTV footage obtained by ARY News showed that one of the dacoits tried to snatch a weapon from the security guard just after entering the shop.
The assailants were seemed unaware of the presence of another security guard at the scene. After witnessing the second security guard, one dacoit shouted to inform his accomplices that they were not alone. Grabbing the opportunity, the first security guard has immediately opened fire on them.
During the exchange of fire, the customers including women and children laid down on the floor when the first gunshot rang in the shop. Meanwhile, the second security guard also opened fire on the suspect, leaving one of the robbers badly injured.
The vigilant guards managed to foil the robbery attempt by intelligently handling the situation without any casualty. One of the dacoits got critically injured and succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.
Upon being informed, a police team rushed to the crime scene and took the injured suspect to a nearby hospital.
