CDA officer goes missing from Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Ayaz Khan, an officer of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has mysteriously gone missing from the federal capital Islamabad, the police said on Friday.

It was learnt that Ayaz Khan has been missing since yesterday from the federal capital city and his [Ayaz Khan’s] wife reached Abpara police station to inform the police about her missing husband.

“My husband Muhammad Ayaz left his office at 2:30 pm yesterday (November 15) and has been missing since,” the missing official’s wife told police in a statement.

The police has filed the case on the formal complaint of the brother in law of the missing official.

The police has initiated inquiry to find out whereabouts of the missing officer and all concerned security institutions have also been informed about the missing of the CDA officer.

Ayaz Khan who is said to be untraced since yesterday had last time talked with his wife on phone, police said. He told his wife that he was in Korang area of the city. But now his phone being found closed.

It may be recalled that, on October 26, Superintendent of Police Tahir Dawar went missing from Islamabad and was found dead in Nangarhar earlier this week. His tortured body was found in Dur Baba district of Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on November 14.

Afghan authorities handed over the mortal remains of the martyred cop to a Pakistani delegation at Torkham border crossing on Thursday, after which the body was brought to Peshawar and laid to rest.
