ISLAMABAD: As the internal differences within Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are no more a secret now, former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali on Wednesday took a jab at foreign ministry while stating that diplomacy is a 24/7 task.

Addressing a National Assembly session, Nisar expressed displeasure over the foreign ministry’s belated diplomatic efforts in connection with the BRICS declaration.

“The concerned officials did not establish contacts with Chinese and Russian counterparts and a resolution was passed against Pakistan on the soil of all-weather friend,” he deplored.

Raising his concern, he said that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in his meeting with US ambassador did not condemn the drone attack carried out on very same day.

“The drone strikes are unacceptable,” he further remarked.

On condition of Rohingya Muslims and state-atrocities in Myanmar’s Rakhine state, Nisar called for a single-point agenda meeting under the umbrella of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC).

Moreover, he criticized silence of Muslim majority countries over ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
