LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday visited the Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad to examine healthcare facilities being provided there.

He paid a visit to the hospital’s emergency and other wards where he listened to patients’ complaints who groused about inadequate facilities at the medical facility.

The CJP expressed anger at the hospital administration for setting up a single token counter outside the emergency ward despite long queues of patients.

He issued directives that more counters should be built to facilitate people visiting the hospital.

The chief justice observed that medical tests costing less money are being conducted at the hospital but it lacked facilities to carry out expensive tests of patients.

He expressed displeasure over the authorities over a lack of such facilities and further asked why patients are being prescribed the medicines which are not available at the medical facility.
