Child Maid torture case: Court extends interim bail to accused judge

ISLAMABAD: A local court on Wednesday extended interim bail of accused judge Raja Khurram and his wife in child maid torture case, ARY News reported.

Additional Sessions Judge Raja Asif Mehmood extended the interim bail to former additional sessions judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife Maheen Zafar till February 10.

The court also directed child maid Tayyaba and her parents to appear in the next hearing of the case.

The counsel informed the court that Tayyaba has been still in the care of state and not handed over to the parents as yet.

The court adjourned the hearing till February 10.

The pictures of the 10-year old housemaid Tayyaba went viral on social media with internet users claiming that the maid works at additional session judge Khurram Ali Khan’s house, was severely tortured by the family of the judge.

Tayyaba, after being recovered by the law enforcement agencies, claimed that she fell from stairs but in the statement recorded for the First Information Report (FIR), the girl stated that she was tortured by the judge’s family.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar had taken suo motu notice of the incident of alleged torture on the 10-year old and constituted a bench for hearing of the case.
