Two children die in house fire in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA:  At least two children were burnt alive and another sustained burn injuries when a fire swept through a house in Sheikhupura early Wednesday morning.

According to the rescue sources, the fire started in a room of the house in Rasool Nagar neighborhood of the city, engulfing the building in no time.

As a result, two children were burnt to death while another sustained injures. The injured child was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for medical attendance.

After being informed of the fire, rescuers and firefighters rushed to the site and began firefighting operation to douse the blaze.

The identities of the deceased children and injured couldn’t be ascertained. The cause of the blaze was also not clear.

The fire incidents in Pakistan increase in winter due to dry weather conditions.

Earlier, four children were burnt alive while two elder members of the family had sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out in their house in Ubauro city of Sindh.

In another similar incident earlier, six children of a family were burnt to death when a fire had broken out in a house in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The blaze engulfed the house situated in Dogdara village of Babozai Payen area, killing six siblings including five sisters and a brother when they were sleeping.
