RAWALPINDI: Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ), Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, the Chinese ambassador commended the Pakistan army’s role for peace and stability in the region.
Matters of mutual interest including regional security were discussed in the meeting, the Pakistan army’s media wing said in the statement.
Earlier on Sept 26 last year, outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong paid a farewell call on Gen Bajwa.
Gen Bajwa then expressed gratitude to the ambassador over his contributions and said Pakistan will continue to strive towards a more interconnected and interdependent region as against a security centric paradigm.
The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated the Pakistan Army’s contributions for peace and stability in the region and pledged to keep working for better relations between two friendly countries.
