KARACHI: Police on Tuesday arrested two suspected street criminals after a citizen hit them with car to overpower them after being robbed in Karachi’s Defence Housing Society, ARY News reported.
According to ARY News correspondent Asif Khan, two armed riders robbed citizens of their valuables in DHA’s Khyaban-e-Sehar area when one of their victims chased them and knocked them off their bike by hitting them with his car.
Severely injured, the two suspected criminals were soon surrounded a number of area residents who tortured them before handing them over to police.
Police claimed to have recovered arms and ammunition from the two suspects who were identified as Khurram and Riaz. The police added that one of the suspected criminals is an employee of cantonment board.
The duo have reportedly confessed their involvement in a number of street crimes.
It is pertinent to note here that according to a recent report, only in last month, street criminals have snatched at least 3,207 cellphones and 2,778 motorcycles during street crimes in Karachi.
