COAS General Bajwa fulfils desire of two cancer patients

LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday fulfilled the desire of two sisters suffering from cancer to become soldiers.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), two sisters namely, Javeria, 13 and Ruba,15, who are battling with the lethal disease cancer, had shown a desire to become a soldier and pleaded the COAS General Bajwa for becoming a soldier.

Corps Commander on the direction of General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with the sisters and provided them the army uniforms, who later laid a floral wreath on ‘Yadgar-e-Shuhda’ and recited Fateha for the martyrs.

They were also given a tour of the army museum.

Back in the month of December, 2017, a 14-year-old boy Ahsan Hussain was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after he posted a short video requesting the army chief to help him with his heart transplant.

In a video message, Hussain had requested Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Amir Riaz to help him with his heart transplant surgery as it was unaffordable for his family.

He mentioned that the doctors suggested heart surgery for him as only 20 per cent of the organ was functioning.

After hearing the news of Corps Commander Lahore visiting the hospital, the boy and his family had broke into tears.
