PURI, Odisha: A bizarre moment was recorded on a cellphone camera when a cobra regurgitated another cobra after being caught.
Harish Chandra Parida, a resident of Satyabadi in Puri district, Odisha, India, was shocked to find a big cobra in his kitchen a day ago. The 5-feet long cobra had taken refuge under a rice drum in the kitchen.
A Snake Helpline volunteer Susant Behera responded to the distress call and rescued the cobra.
But to Susant’s surprise, the cobra started moving to regurgitate something. First, the tail, and slowly the full body of the smaller snake came out.
Subhendu Mallik, General Secretary of Snake helpline, said: “When they sense danger, snakes regurgitate their meal to make a quick getaway. However, a cobra vomiting another cobra is surely a rare phenomenon.”
