VIDEO: Thousands of cockroaches ‘flee’ typhoon in Chinese city
BEIJING: A ‘creepy’ footage is going rounds on the internet that shows thousands of cockroaches crawling along a wall in China, seemingly attempting to escape a typhoon in the area.
Video shared by 100 Most magazine Wednesday shows the massive horde of cockroaches marching along the seaside wall.The video shows thousands of cockroaches marching along a sea wall, intent on escaping the rain soaked ground beneath.
The line of cockroaches extends for several feet in either direction along the wall, as the roaches attempted to flee ground soaked by Typhoon Hato.
The skin-crawling video has been viewed more than 500,000 times and received more than 14,000 likes, but presumably none of the users would have liked it by heart.
Macau’s Government Information Bureau said five people were killed and 153 injured in the gambling enclave due to the powerful storm.
China’s official Xinhua News Agency said in southern China, almost 27,000 people were evacuated to emergency shelters, while extensive damage to farmland and the loss of power to almost 2 million households was also reported.
