ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Saturday handed over former federal secretary Shahid Rafi to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on physical remand until April 22 (Monday) in a rental power case.

NAB officials produced the arrested accused before the accountability court and demanded his physical remand for interrogation.

The court granted physical remand of Rafi until Monday and directed the officials to produce him before it on the next hearing along with a progress report.

The bureau had earlier on April 19 arrested the former government official during a raid at his house in Islamabad.

Sources in the accountability watchdog had said important documents were recovered from his possession during a raid. Rafi is nominated in 11 references filed by the NAB in the rental power case.
