Crackdown launched against ‘illegal’ MQM offices across Sindh

Sources said the Sindh government has decided to carry out crackdown against the illegal control of the political party over the government lands. The decision in this regard was taken in a high-level meeting in Chief Minister House headed by the CM Sindh.

Operation has started against the offices of MQM in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Mosmiat, Bhense Colony, Shah Faisal Town, Sukken, Sachchal, Qaidabad, Majeed Colony and airport police station.

Sources said MQM office established on illegal land in Unit 93, Bhense Colony, has been demolished. Meanwhile, MQM offices in Sukken, Sachchal, airport police station area and Majeed Colony, Quaidabad have also been demolished.

According to recent reports, MQM’s Tariq Bin Ziad colony office has also been razed to ground.

SSP Malir Rao Anwar said all those offices were established on illegal plots.

Sources said those offices established on amenity plots, playgrounds, parks and from where criminals were apprehended will also be pulled down.

They said record of illegally established unit and sector offices had been gathered.

Earlier, the federal government on Tuesday has decided to seal the offices of MQM across Pakistan with a likely ban on the political party.

The decision with regard to the ban on MQM will be taken within next few days, well placed government sources said.
