CTD arrests two suspected terrorists in Lahore raid

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police claimed on Monday to have arrested two suspected terrorists during an overnight raid in the provincial capital, ARY News reported.

According to CTD officials, a raid was conducted in a Lahore neighbourhood on a tip-off, which led to the arrest of two terror suspects.

The arrested suspects were identified as Abdullah and Khalid Khan. Explosive material, two hand grenades, and illicit arms were recovered from their possession.

Sources said they were planning to target security forces in the city.

Earlier, June 9, the CTD personnel in a raid in Multan arrested three terror suspects.

The personnel conducted a raid at a house in Khaira Chowk in Multan and arrested three terror suspects affiliated with an outlawed group, CTD sources said. The arrested terrorism accused were identified as Basit, Nasir and Ghulam Hussain.

Explosives and cash were recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists.

Terror suspects were allegedly planning attacks on sensitive government installations in Multan.
