CTD arrests ‘terrorist’ in Abbottabad raid
ABBOTTABAD: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested a terrorist during a raid in an Abottabad locality, ARY News reported.
According to CTD officials, the raid was conducted on a secret information. The terror suspect identified as Mujeebur Rehman hailed from Karachi.
The arrested suspect was involved in terrorist activities in Karachi and Balochistan, including target killing, bomb blasts, and bank robberies.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) had earlier on March 21 arrested at least four terror suspects during raids in different areas of Karachi.
CTD official said that the suspects, during the initial investigations, confessed to their involvement in the killing of more than 13 people on the directions of their party. The suspects were identified as Muhammad Irfan, Naimat Ali, Salman Hashmi, and Nasir.

The official said that Muhammad Irfan was associated with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and the rest of three were affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London.
He said that the MQM-London target killers had killed a JI activist, Muhammad Azhar in 2010. The official said the suspects were involved in target killing, extortion and other heinous crimes and added that many cases were registered against the suspects in different police stations.
