CTD police gun down three ‘abductors’ in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in a police encounter shot dead three suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping for ransom in Peshawar on Friday, ARY News reported.

Police said two alleged abettors of the abductors had managed to flee. Police said they had received a tip-off about entry of the kidnappers in the metropolis.

“Snap-checking was conducted on all the routes leading to Peshawar from Khyber district,” said police.

CTD police said they encountered the abductors within the jurisdiction of Matni police station.

On April 11, the CTD of Karachi Police had arrested a wanted terrorist of outlawed Jundullah terror group, the CTD chief had said in a press briefing.

Arrested terrorist Mohammad Ishaq alias Gul was named in the red book, CTD chief Raja Umar Khattab told the media.

Police had recovered a suicide jacket and a hand grenade from his possession, the police officer said.

According to the officer, the alleged terrorist had entered in Balochistan from Afghanistan and then arrived in interior of Sindh.

He had come to Karachi for a major terrorist attack in the metropolis, the CTD in-charge officer had claimed.

Ishaq alias Gul was a neighbor of Ataur Rehman alias Naeem Bukhari of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi group, he had said.
