69th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam being observed today

Karachi: The 69th death anniversary of founder of Pakistan‚ Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being observed today (Monday) with reverence and honour.

Quran Khawani and Fateha will be held at the Quaid’s Mazar, while people from various walks of life will visit the mausoleum to lay floral wreath and offer Fateha.

Special prayers will also be offered in mosques across the country for the departed soul of the father of the nation.

On this occasion, President Mamnoon Hussain has stressed for continuing efforts to make Pakistan a cradle of freedom, dignity and honour as was envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam.

“Pakistan is progressing socially, economically and politically and let us reaffirm on this day that we will devote our energies in individual and collective capacities for the betterment of our country,” the president further said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the best way to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation is to adhere to principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline. He urged the nation to carry forward the Quaid’s legacy in letter and spirit toward making Pakistan a developed and prosperous country.

Several public and private organizations and educational institutions will hold functions to highlight different aspects of the life of Quaid-e-Azam who united the Muslims of the Subcontinent for acquiring a separate homeland.

Media will air special programmes to pay homage to the great leader. Excerpts from the speeches of Quaid-e-Azam will also be broadcast during the special transmissions.
