Never said Dr Aafia is not willing to return to Pakistan: Dr Faisal
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Faisal on Thursday clarified that he never said Dr Aafia Siddiqui is not willing to return to Pakistan, my statement was reported out of context, ARY News reported.
“So far Sri Lanka has not sought any help from Pakistan, but Islamabad will help Colombo in any possible matter it could”, he said while briefing media in Islamabad, here today.
Dr Mohammad Faisal said President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on their respective Sri Lankan counterparts and affirmed following the deadliest attacks to show Pakistan’s support to Sri Lanka.
Expressing deep concern of Pakistan on plight of Kashmiris and incarceration of Hurriyet leaders, the foreign office spokesperson said intensified atrocities continue in Occupied Kashmir and in their latest acts of violence two youth were martyred by occupying forces in Bijbehara.
He said Pakistan condemns continued incarceration of Chairman JKLF Yasin Malik on trumped up charged, despite his deteriorating health.
He said Pakistan is committed to Kartarpur Corridor and awaits the next meeting with India in this regard.
