Dr Asim Hussain, who is booked under corruption charges, was presented before an accountability court today, where the former minister once again escaped indictment due to the absence of prosecutor.

Dr Hussain is facing an inquiry against him over corruption worth 462 billion rupees.

During the hearing, his counsel told the court that he has not been provided with documents relating to the reference against Dr Hussain.

At this, the court directed concerned officials to provide relative documents to the Dr Asim Hussain’s lawyer.

Meanwhile, Dr Hussain also filed a plea requesting the court to allow him to visit UAE Embassy ‘to get some papers signed’. The court issued a notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over the plea.

The court, while issuing non-bailable arrest warrants for other two accused on the run Abdulhameed and Masood Haider, adjourned the hearing till May 06.
