Dr Zafar Mirza assumes charge as health minister
ISLAMABAD: Dr Zafar Mirza on Tuesday assumed charge as state minister for health, ARY News reported.
“I will work in the line of PM Khan’s visions and will try my best in rendering best services in the ministry”, he said after assuming charge of his office.
The minister was warmly welcomed by the officials upon his arrival at the health ministry.
It may be noted that Dr Zafar Mirza was appointed by Prime Minister Imran Khan as health minister by removing Aamer Kiani, who failed in controlling over the increasing medicine prices in the country.
Prime minister was not happy with Kiani over his failure to control over increasing medicine prices.
Federal cabinet on Thursday saw a major reshuffle with the resignation of Asad Umar as finance minister and appointment of noted economist Hafeez Shaikh as Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance.
Minister of State for Interior Shaheryar Afridi has been made Minister of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON).
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry was given the Science and Technology portfolio which had been without a minister since December last year after Azam Khan Swati’s resignation.
