KARACHI: Senior leader Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Naeemul Haque says that ‘enemies’ are allegedly circulating a fake list of party cabinet members online.
The PTI leader clarifies that the party hasn’t yet taken a decision on cabinet positions so far.
“A number of fake lists regarding PTI cabinet are being circulated by enemies of PTI. They are hereby warned to refrain from such malicious activities…” he said on Twitter.
Imran Khan led-PTI has emerged as the single largest party in the general elections, allowing it to form government in the Centre as well as two provinces – Punjab and Khyber Pakhtonkhwa. The PTI needed support of some candidates to reach the required number to form government in the province and earlier in the day, the party claimed to have acquired the number of candidates needed to form its Punjab government.
According to party leader Fawad Chaudhary, the next chief minister of Punjab will be from the PTI.
The PTI says it has now support of 150 members in the Punjab Assembly to make its government in the province, thus pushing the PML-N on the opposition benches.
For a simple majority, a party needs the support of at least 149 MPAs out of the overall 297 general members to form government in the population-wise largest province of the country.
