LAHORE: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry once again on Saturday advised former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to enter into a plea bargain with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to avoid his imprisonment in Al-Azizia corruption reference.

Taking to Twitter, he said Sharif has not been hospitalised within four days of his release from Kot Lakhpat Jail on a six-week-long bail. He questioned if the motive behind the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader’s ailment was to get out of prison and questioned whether he is waiting for the last week of the bail period to fall ill.

Chaudhry said he advised Sharif to opt for plea bargain with the bureau. “This is not Hussain or Hassan’s money but yours. This nation gave you respect [by electing you] three times, return their wealth.”

Earlier, on March 17, the minister had said the former premier had an option of entering into a plea bargain with NAB to get out of jail in order to be able to go abroad.
