FBR gets new chief in recent reshuffle in bureaucracy

ISLAMABAD: In the recent bureaucratic reshuffle, Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan has been appointed as the chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and secretary of the Revenue Division.

According to the notification, Jahanzeb Khan is a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service and will now serve as the FBR chairman.

Furthermore, the Director General (DG) of Intelligence Bureau has also been changed and Dr Muhammad Suleman Khan has been appointed as new DG of Intelligence Bureau, replacing Ehsan Ghani.

Dr Suleman has previously served as the National Coordinator for the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA). Now, Mehar Khalid Dad Lak has succeeded Dr Suleman as NACTA coordinator.

Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the transfers and postings in the federal bureaucracy on Monday, as a result of which recent reshuffles took place at a number of top government posts.
