Federal minister says steps being taken for modernization of railways

ISLAMABAD: Federal Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Monday said that the government was taking steps to put Pakistan Railways on modern lines.

He was speaking at a signing ceremony in connection with online train tickets in Lahore on Monday.

Saad Rafique said Pakistan railways freight sector had earned billions of rupees because of the reforms introduced by the government.

Pakistan railways made unprecedented progress during the last four years because of strenuous efforts of its employees, he said.

The federal minister said it was the commitment and hard work of employees that revolutionized railways network across the country and their efforts would always be remembered.
