LAHORE: First lady of Pakistan Bushra Bibi on Saturday visited the site of shelter home project in the provincial capital, ARY News reported.

According to details, during her visit, Bushra Bibi was accompanied by her friend Farah Khan.

The wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to complete the work at the shelter home as soon as possible. Adding, all basic facilities including a proper meal should be provided to the homeless.

Afterwards, Bushra Bibi went to visit the Data Darbar, the shrine of 11th century Sufi saint Syed Ali Hajveri (R.A)

Earlier in November, Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation of the shelter home project in Lahore.

The project is aimed at housing homeless people who usually spend nights on footpaths or other places in different areas of Lahore city.

The PM, during the ceremony of inaugurating shelter homes, had said that his party’s aim was to turn Pakistan into a welfare state and the target could not be achieved without helping the poor segments of the society.

“Should we allow our people to live on footpaths. Our government is bringing a first of its kind poverty alleviation package within a week or two in which all relevant departments will work under a single setup to eliminate poverty,” Imran Khan had said.

The PM had said that his government will initiate similar projects in other big cities of the country.
