ISLAMABAD: Reinvigorating his ministry’s resolve, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “we will continue to act as the first line of defence.”

According to details, Mr. Qureshi tweeted on Thursday while boastfully mentioning the achievements of the foreign ministry and acknowledgment of their efforts from Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Prime Minister’s commendation of our work at MOFA during the 100 days of PTI’s govt is a source of great pride and encouragement for me and my team,” the minister wrote.

Adding, “We will continue to act as the first line of defence and to effectively project Pakistan’s interests on the global stage.”

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has recently attained great accomplishments on diplomatic front, which mainly include the initiative to open Kartarpur border with India and the US acceptance of Pakistan’s stance on Afghanistan reconciliation process.

Earlier today, PM Khan said Pakistan has always played an active role to promote peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan and it felt ‘good’ that the world powers particularly the United States, has recognized Pakistan’s contribution to this effect.

The Foreign Office also informed today that US special envoy for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalamay Khalilzad met with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and assured him of cooperation while putting forward no conditions from the US administration to Pakistan for the course of peace in Afghanistan.
