QUETTA: A car was ambushed by unidentified assailants near Mastung district of restive Balochistan province leaving at least four people dead including a woman and one person injured when it was en route to Karachi from Quetta on Wednesday morning, ARY News reported.
According to Balochistan Levies, the vehicle was on the way to Karachi when came under the gun attack. The assailants managed to flee the site soon after the incident.
Reaching the spot, the levies personnel and rescue teams shifted the bodies to District Headquarter Hospital Mastung while the injured was shifted to Quetta for medical treatment.
In the attack, four people on board the vehicle died instantly while another person suffered critical injuries.
All dead and injured are believed to be from the same family and belonged to ethnic Hazara community, levies sources said. However, their identification could not be established immediately.
Chief Minister of Balochistan (CM) Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has strongly condemned the firing incident and directed the security officers to submit report as early as possible.
So far, no group has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
