RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday conferred military awards to army officers for acts of gallantry during operations.
The awards were presented during an investiture ceremony held at General Headquarters, attended by a large number of military officials and relatives of martyrs and war veterans.
Thirty-three officers were awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz (military), one officer was awarded Tamgha-e-Jurat, and 35 soldiers were awarded Tamgha-e-Bisalat. The medals of martyrs were received by their family members.
Paying rich tribute to martyrs, Gen Bajwa said said that they owe peace and stability to the selfless devotion and sacrifices of these officers and soldiers who are the real heroes.
