Ghulam Ali’s recent saga was witnessed and condemned by most Bollywood celebrities. The Pakistani ghazal maestro was stopped from performing his concert in Mumbai and Pune, after rightist-Hindu political party Shiv Sena threatened to protest ‘in their style’. Organizers panicked and hence, the event was called off due to safety and security measures.

Other Bollywood superstars such as Shabana Azmi, designer Wendell Rodricks and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt have openly condemned Shiv Sena’s harsh attitude. However, Indian singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya unleashed a series of tweets reently:-

Abhijeet is known for being insensitive and making such harsh, brash comments also. In 2002, when Bollywood actor Salman Khan was embroiled in the hit-and-run case, he stated, roads are meant for”cars and dogs and not for people sleeping on them”. He also went on to say that if a dog sleeps on the road, he will die a dog’s death.

Such statements have always been looked at as immature and controversially stupid. Abhijeet’s statements have been welcomed by Shiv Sena but nobody else.
