Govt committed to farmers’ welfare, prosperity: CM Buzdar

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar here on Sunday said that the government was taking all possible measure for the welfare and prosperity of the farmers.

Talking to provincial Minister for Cooperative Maher Muhammad Aslam Bharwana, who called on him today, Usman Buzdar said that boosting agricultural sector was among the top priorities of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Minister for Cooperative Maher Muhammad Aslam Bharwana briefed the chief minister about the performance of the his department.

The chief minister said that a new policy was being chalked out to lease out the properties and lands of the cooperative department and the rate of lease will also be reviewed and fixed as per the current rates of the market.

He said that measures will be taken to develop the cooperative bank in accordance with the modern requirement of the banking sector.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, on March 10, had said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf provincial government had committed in bringing prosperity in farmers’ lives.

In a statement issued from Lahore, he had said a long term policy is being pursued for development of agriculture sector that would produce far-reaching results.
