Hafeez Jalandhari being remembered today

The 32nd death anniversary of the architect of Pakistan’s national anthem Hafeez Jalandhari is being observed on Sunday, ARY News reports.

Hafeez Jalandhari was born on 14th January, 1900 in Indian Punjab’s city of Jalandhar. He migrated to Pakistan in 1947.

He wrote mesmerizing poems, ghazal and songs which earned him the title of Shayar-e-Islam (Poet of Islam) and Shayar-e-Pakistan (Poet of Pakistan). His poetry, written to indulge the readers, used to inspire his readers and listeners.

One of his achievements of Jalandhari was Shahnama-e-Islam in which he bdescribed Islamic history beautifully in poetry.

Jalandhari’s first poetic compilation ” Naghma-e-Zar” was published in 1925.

He holds a distinguished position in Marsiah writing as well.

The poet represented the culture of South Asia by selecting his tunes and topics of his writing from the subcontinent.

Jalandhari passed away on 21st December, 1982 at the age of 82 years.

His contributions will forever be remembered by the country and its citizens. His name will forever be written in history with golden letters.
