LAHORE: Pakistan Super League (PSL) final will be held in Punjab province’s capital city Lahore on March 5, Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday after a high-level meeting.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah also told ARY News that the meeting, after hours of deliberation, the meeting decided to hold the PSL final in Lahore.

The Punjab administration is taking all measures necessary to hold the final in the city and has assured players about the security arrangements in and outside the Gaddafi Stadium.

‘International security experts are arriving’

Speaking exclusively to ARY News, PSL Chairman Najam Sethi revealed that not only players but eight international security experts including those from ICC will be there to watch the PSL final and monitor the security situation in Pakistan.

He added that the tickets for viewing the final in Lahore will be available from tomorrow.

“Pakistan has suffered a lot after being deprived of international cricket for about eight years,” said Sethi.

Answering a question about foreign players’ consent, the PSL chairman claimed that the teams qualifying for the final will have to go with four foreign players and the board will ask the foreign players who are part of those teams if they wish to play the final in Lahore or not.

It is pertinent to note here that Pakistan has not hosted any international team except for Zimbabwe since the March 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore.
