Hrithik Roshan feels Mohenjo Daro will be one of his best films
The epic adventure-romance film is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, who is best known for film ‘set on a huge canvas while boasting of an opulent treatment’ such as Lagaan, Swades, and Jodhaa Akbar.
Roshan while talking to reporters said that:
‘For Mohenjodaro, I am travelling back in time. It has been a great journey, great experience. I really believe it is going to be one of my best films. I hope and pray that the audience also agrees with it when the film releases’
The film is based during the Indus Valley Civilization in modern day Pakistan which is one of the oldest cities in the world dating 2500 B.C.
It shows the protagonist who falls in love with his enemy’s daughter who is a dancer. The role is played by newcomer Pooja Hedge. The film is centered around romance through the cultures and ancient civilization of Mohenjo Daro.
The 52-year-old Gowariker has said that he likes to research on his subject even if it takes time. Recently he attended a program at the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) in Mumbai where he spoke of his ambitious film:
“I always do the research myself. I read all the books on the subject that I am going to adapt and understand the era myself. It can take a long time but it prepares you well,”
Gowariker has taken more than three years to develop the film with the help of archaeologists who documented the discovery of Indus Valley civilisation. The film is slated for release on 12th August, 2016.
