IMF chief to visit Pakistan in October

She will attend the upcoming Central Asian Regional Economic Conference. IMF Chief Christine Lagarde will become the first IMF chief to tour Pakistan in last 10 years.

She will meet Pakistani leadership and discuss Pakistan’s economic strategies during the visit on the sidelines of the conference.

Lagarde will discuss with the Pakistani officials about the impact the IMF bailout programme on the economy of the country.

It should be noted that President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Takehiko Nakao will also tour Pakistan next month as well.

IMF chief and ADB president are both expected to attend the economic moot in the country.

The upcoming session of IMF Executive Board will be held on 28th September in which the board likely to grant the last tranche of $102 million of the IMF bailout package to Pakistan.
