PM Imran to take cabinet into confidence over China visit

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a cabinet meeting on April 30 in which the PM and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would take the cabinet into confidence on their visit to China, ARY News reported.

The advisor to PM on finance and trade will brief the meeting on Pak-China agreements, while the minister for planning and development will take the forum into confidence.

The federal cabinet will mull over 16-point agenda.

The meeting will also review formation of separate ministries for the power and petroleum divisions. Additional duty on the machinery being imported for off-shore duty may be exempted by the forum.

Approval for posting of judges in different courts is also included in the agenda.

The cabinet will be briefed on renewal of current education system. The agenda of the meeting includes approval of bill for convention of biological and toxin weapons.

Appointment of the Pakistan Broadcasting Association’s director general is also part of the agenda.

Approval for planning for protection from famine may also be given.

On April 23, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet. The meeting discussed a 16-point agenda.

The cabinet gave approval to the appointment of finance member on deputation in the National Highway Authority (NHA).
