PARACHINAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan cancelled his visit to Parachinar which was scheduled for Friday (today).

PTI candidate for NA-46 Iqbal Syed Mian informed about this development during a press conference at the press club. “Imran Khan had cancelled his visit to Parachinar after the Peshawar suicide attack,” he said.

Iqbal Syed stated that the PTI chief was due to address a public gathering in Parachinar as a part of his election campaign for July 25 polls. “Imran Khan had planned to start his election campaign in tribal areas from Parachinar,” he added.

PTI has also allotted tickets to the party candidates in other parts of the FATA region, including North Waziristan, Khyber, Orakzai, Mohmand, Bajaur and Frontier Regions.

Earlier today, a bomb ripped through the convoy of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) candidate Akram Khan Durrani in a Bannu neighborhood this morning. He, however, escaped unhurt while four people were killed and 14 others injured in the attack.

This is the second terrorist attack targeting an election candidate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in a space of few days as Awami National Party (ANP) candidate Haroon Bilour and over a dozen others were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a corner meeting in Peshawar’s Yakatut area.
