PM Khan urges people to benefit from tax amnesty scheme till June 30

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday urged countrymen to benefit from the tax amnesty scheme introduced by his government until June 30.


“Disclose your concealed assets, if you have till June 30, else you will not get another chance”, the premier said in his address to the nation today.

The premier said, we collect about four thousand billion rupees in taxes, of which half of the amount goes to the debt servicing. The premier said Pakistan cannot survive on the rest of the money.

Prime Minister Khan said nation cannot prosper until we pay our due taxes. “Today’s government has more information than any previous government has ever had, courtesy of its information sharing with other countries”.

Our institutions and agencies have information on foreign assets and bank accounts, he said.

He maintained Pakistan is ranked amongst the few most charitable nations but in terms of payment of taxes, we rank far below.  He said this nation has the capacity to generate ten thousand billion rupees in taxes.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday summoned a meeting of the government’s spokespersons at Bani Gala to discuss the upcoming budget.

The huddle took into consideration the opposition’s response to the budget, whereas the economic team briefed the government’s spokespersons.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a special session regarding Punjab budget on June 10 (today).
