ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday nominated Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar as his party’s candidate for election of Punjab province’s chief minister, ARY News reported.
Sardar Usman Ahmad Khan Buzdar won the July 25 polls from PP-286 Dera Ghazi Khan-II constituency of Punjab Assembly.
“Sardar Usman is from one of the most underdeveloped areas of the province. Sardar Usman knows how people live in such underdeveloped areas, he is an MNA whose own house is without electricity. His nomination fits our vision of bringing people from such areas forward,” Imran Khan said in a video message posted on his party’s page.
Sources had said on Thursday that the party is trying to bring someone from South Punjab as their nominee for CM Punjab slot.
Congratulations to Usman Buzdar on his nomination for the post of CM Punjab. Usman hails from the poorest part of Tonsa Sharif, an area that has lagged far behind even other areas of South Punjab ! IA, his appointment will help bring South Punjab out of its miseries.
