LONDON: The government is concerned about the financial crisis of the media industry and the woes of Pakistani media workers, said the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry.
According to details, the minister was on a visit to British Film of Institute (BFI) in London where he met with institute’s senior officials and discussed possible future collaboration in the media industry.
He further discussed cooperation with officials of BFI to create a fund for film, certification and training.
Sharing that Pakistan has been in talks with British companies which are setting up big media houses in Britain and Malaysia, he added that these firms are facing a shortage of man power.
“Pakistan could export skilled workers of film industry to United Kingdom which was currently facing shortage of skilled worker,” the minister hinted.
Praising the pristine natural beauty of his home country, Fawad Chaudhry also invited British and Hollywood actors to shoot their films in Pakistan.

The Minister for Information, in earlier November, said that they had contacted international tech giants to regulate the social media in the country.
He said the government wanted to form one authority to regularity three different mediums of social media.
Fawad said they were establishing Pakistan Media University so as to tackle the challenges of new era and underscore the need of innovation in media.
The minister said the government trying to make such a new regularity authority, which would be compatible with the requirements of the modern era.
