Indian forces put Mirwaiz under house arrest, seal Hurriyat forum’s offices in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: In Indian occupied Kashmir, the authorities put the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest on Saturday, Kashmir Media Service reported.

According to details, the puppet government in held Kashmir put Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house detention and sealed the Rajbagh office of the Hurriyat forum to prevent a workers’ session.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a tweet wrote, “One day #Hurriyat workers /delegate session barred! Put again under #HouseArrest! Rajbagh office of Hurriyat sealed! Not allowed any space or scope for any political activity! So much for practising honest democracy Governor sahib.”

A day earlier, Mirwaiz asked the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give peace a real chance by positively responding to his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan’s repeated offers of engagement.

Addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, occupied KashmirMirwaiz Umar Farooq said, “Narendra Modi should positively respond to Imran Khan’s repeated offers of engagement so that both could build trust and give peace a real chance.”

He said that military approach to issues could never succeed but human approach to them as witnessed in the opening of Kartarpur Corridor was the best way forward.

The Hurriyat leader urged the Indian government to stop the killing of Kashmiri youth and blinding them by pellets.
