RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Monday that the repression of Indian occupying forces can never suppress valiant spirit of Kashmiris.

In a message shared by ISPR’s spokesperson Major Gen Ghafoor, Gen Bajwa said the struggle of Kashmiri people is destined to succeed.

The army chief’s message has been shared on Kashmir Solidarity Day, being observed nationwide.

He said the people of Kashmir have been rightfully awaiting support of the international community to conduct a referendum under United Nation (UN) resolution.

“Regardless of the ordeal, their [Kashmiris] struggle is destined to succeed IA [InshAllah],” Maj Gen Ghafoor quoted the COAS as saying on his official Twitter account.

Earlier today, a one-minute silence was observed nationwide at 10am to pay homage to the supreme sacrifices rendered by Kashmiri people and their decades-long struggle for self-determination.

Public rallies, walks and seminars are also being held in order to draw world attention towards the plight of oppressed Kashmiri people.
