Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) anthem “Rok Sako To Rok Lo Tabdeeli Aayi Re” is quite popular among the party fans and well-wishers alike, but a couple of years old Indian Rajasthani Bhajan has also surfaced online with an unusually similar tune to the PTI song, stirring online debate whether which of them came first. And we appear to lose the case.

The debate over ‘originality’ of the PTI anthem, jointly sung by Imran Ismail, Shahzaman and Jawad Kahlown, brought to light after Arab News shared the Indian Bhajan citing ‘some people’ as their first source. The PTI anthem has reached over 28 million views on YouTube and was released on August 30, 2017.

The PTI song is an original, written and composed by Jawad Kahlon. The line ‘Rok Sako To Rok Lo’ was written by Imran Ismail.”

Jawad was approached by the Arab News for his version of the song. He said: We did hear this song,” he said. “Indeed, there is a resemblance but this specific kind of music resembles many songs. But it goes without saying that our composition is way catchier, stronger and popular,” he added.

In fact, Imran Khan had also praised Imran Ismail, who is now Governor Sindh, for his cameo in the song.
