Karachi: Alleged killer of wife, two children in arson attack produced in court

KARACHI: The police produced the accused, allegedly involved in killing of his wife and two children in an arson incident, before a judge in City Court on Monday, ARY News reported.

The court granted three days’ remand of the accused to police.

The counsel of the complainant said that the incident should be heard in an anti-terrorism court. “Three people have been burnt alive in the incident, which has infuriated people of the area,” the counsel said.

The defence counsel argued that victims were living at the mother’s family home and called for including the people of the house in the investigation.

The defence lawyer said there was no evidence against his client and pleaded the court to send him to jail.

The judge asked the investigation officer about the defence side’s plea.

“The accused arrived in Pakistan and stayed at a guest house,” investigation officer said. He purchased a new sim, which has been recovered, the IO said.

The police has also gathered evidence about his purchase of drugs and traced the guest house where he secretly stayed, the officer said.

The investigation officer said that the house (where the crime took place) have two entrances, the accused had avoid to enter in the premises from the main gate of the house.

The accused on question of the judge whether he was tortured, told the court that he was being tortured despite his personal loss in the incident.

The court ordered the police to submit its report within three days.
