Karachi traffic cop saves dog stuck in drain line, gets reward

KARACHI: A traffic sergeant in Karachi drew attention of the public with an act of humanity after he saved a dog that had fallen into a drain line, ARY News reported.

The officer was stationed near Bilawal House when he spotted a dog into a drain line and the animal was struggling to come out of it. The traffic officer, without taking care of his uniform, stepped in for help.

He successfully pulled out the dog from the drain line and the animal remained unhurt. Someone had shot video of the traffic cop and it went viral shortly after it.

Inspector General Sindh Police Syed Kaleem Imam praised the officer and announced a cash award of Rs 25,000 for the cop.

He said the act of the traffic sergeant deserved praise and showed his love for the animals.

Recently,  a video of Karachi traffic policeman stopping two Chinese nationals at a signal over violation of the traffic rules is making rounds at the various platforms of the social media.

“What’s your name?” the policeman can be heard asking in the video from the underage passengers.

The cop added that, we keep stopping them for violations and they pretend they don’t understand English. “Despite knowing both English and Urdu they do not say anything and sit quietly,” he added.
