ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and across the world are observing India’s Republic Day as “Black Day”.

A complete strike is being observed in the occupied territory. The strike call given by Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Yasin Malik, Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Protest demonstrations will be held against Indian occupation in occupied territory and important capital cities of the world.

India, which claims itself to be a democratic country, has denied Kashmiris their right to self determination for the past six decades despite passage of several United Nations resolutions over the issue.

The Indian forces have subjected Kashmiris to severe torture including murders and rape incidents. Several Kashmiris have lost their eye-sight due to excessive use of force by the Indian occupation forces including the use of pellet guns in an unrest after killing of Burhan Wani, a young commander of the pro-independence fighters.

The entire occupied Kashmir especially Srinagar and Jammu has been put under siege on the eve of India’s Republic Day.

Large battalions of Indian troops and police personnel have been deployed in every nook and corner of the occupied territory causing huge inconvenience to the people.
