Kashmiris’ struggle for self determination cannot be suppressed: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Director General, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs.

In his tweet today, DG ISPR  paid tribute to Kashmiri martyrs of 6 Nov 1947 and till date adding that their great sacrifices shall accrue result IA”.

“Continued atrocities by Indian Occupation forces can never suppress political struggle of kashmiris for their legitimate right of self determination.”, Major General Asif Ghafoor continued.

Kashmiris’ are observing Jammu Martyrs’ Day with the resolve to continue the martyrs’ mission till the realization of their legitimate right to self-determination.

It may be recalled that, thousands of Kashmiris were massacred by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian army and Hindu extremists in different parts of Jammu region while they were migrating to Pakistan during the first week of November in 1947.

On the other hand, Indian brutalities still continue in held Kashmir, as occupation forces in recent act of state terrorism martyred two more youth.

According to Kashmir Media Service, youth were targeted in Shopian area of the occupied valley during a military operation of the forces.

On October 25, Complete shutter down strike was observed In Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) against the martyrdom of PhD scholar Dr Sabzar Ahmad Sofi and Asif Ahmad Gojri by the occupation forces in Srinagar.

Soon after martyrdom of the youth, massive protests broke out in the area against the killings. People took to the streets and chanted high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Indian police and troops lobbed teargas shells to disperse the protesters.

Indian authorities suspended internet services in Srinagar and Budgam districts and ordered closure of educational institutions in Srinagar to prevent protest against killings.

Later, thousands of people hailing from various sections of the society attended funeral prayers of martyred Dr Sabzar Ahmad Sofi in the held valley.
