Khursheed Shah calls for collective efforts to put country back on ‘right path’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader, Syed Khursheed Shah on Thursday urged for collective efforts in order to move forward and put the country back on the right path.

Speaking at the floor of the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah said opposition is playing its ‘positive’ role inside and outside the parliament and not in mood to create unrest.

“Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior should have been in attendance in the house today, in the wake of present situation of the country.”, continued PPP leader.

Khursheed Shah maintained that you [PM] vowed to attend sessions of the house to address questions in past, adding that opposition wants solution of the present crises.

Mr. Shah extended the support of his party to the incumbent government to guide country out of the present ‘crunch’ situation.

Yesterday, Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari said that “leg pulling” will not serve anyone’s cause, urged for combine efforts to steer the country out of the hot waters.

Speaking at the floor of the National Assembly. Zardari said “Democracy has its weaknesses, but it remains the best way to address critical issues faced by a country.”

The former president said that financial help from friendly countries is not a long-term solution to improve the overall economic situation of the country, adding that relations with countries are not meant to get financial assistance only.

Former president, while extending his support to the government, said, ” will suggest best solutions to address the problems being faced by the country, if government decides to sit with larger opposition.”

Highlighting the crucial situation of the country passing through currently, former President said that “leg pulling” will not serve anyone, he called to move forward for steering country out of present crisis.
