Ms. Nawaz won the NA-120 by-election in Lahore on September 17, but has been in London since last month after it was revealed that she was suffering from a curable form of cancer.
Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif has convened an important session of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday to deliberate on the political situation and other critical issues.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif are expected to attend the meeting.
They are likely to discuss electoral reforms, and the new party leadership, as well Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution. They would also discuss the situation after NA-120 by-election and the recently passed Election Reforms Bill which could pave way for Nawaz Sharif to be the head of the PML-N.
