Larkana HIV AIDS spread: Dr Muzaffar’s remand extended

LARKANA: The court on Friday extended remand of Dr Muzaffar Ghanghro, who was responsible for immunodeficiency virus (HIV) AIDS spread in Larkana’s area of Ratodero, for three more days.

Dr Muzaffar was presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate Larkana as his three-day remand ended today.

The court extended remand of Dr Muzaffar for three more days and handed him over to the Larkana police.

Dr Ghanghro was arrested by the police on Tuesday for the spread of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) AIDS in the area.

According to the Deputy Commissioner Larkana, Noman Siddique, more than 45 people among them 25 children, were transmitted AIDS by doctor, Muzaffar, who injected the patients visiting him for treatment as an act of revenge.

The arrested doctor is said to be mentally ill and a medical board has been formed to examine him, the DC said.

The authorities took notice of the matter as the number of HIV-positive cases saw sharp rise in the area.

Taking notice of the matter, Sindh’s Health Department sent its team and to control over the increasing lethal disease of HIV AIDS, but it was reportedly on May 1st that the staff was short of the kits, must for the test of the patients.
